SINGLE Range

Order single fin designs

This is a small sampling of our most recent single fins.

Our fin business started making single fins and evolved into thrusters and quads as the industry changed. The TSN series shown here is a direct descendant of our original THUMB fin design that dates back to the early 70’s.

The fins featured here are some of the more recent versions and the ones that are currently popular.

SP9 Series

This is the latest series to be added to our range. It follows in the footsteps of our other single-fin designs, featuring a very narrow base with a substantial blade.

This design features a narrow base and spine that blend into a large blade. The blade provides a lot of drive with very little flex, except for some torsional flex. The narrow base allows the fin to perform tight turns, and, coupled with the fin's rake, it will enable the fin to be placed further forward on the board, further enhancing its turning ability.

The size range of this design is currently reasonably small, as not much fin is needed to achieve high performance. We recommend riding these fins as small as possible. As we gain experience with the design, additional sizes might be added.

The foiling on these fins is unique in that the spine is only foiled on the leading edge. The back edge is left completely blunt, allowing the water to flow unimpeded off the back.

It works well in edge-style boards but will work equally well in a 2PLUS1 setup.

SIZE: ranges from 6.00" to 8.00" in half-inch increments.

TSN Series

This series is the oldest in our range; it was the first fin we designed and made in 1972! It has had minor tweaks over the years but is still one of the best single fins. The "T" stands for Thumb Fin!

Most of our single fins can be traced back to this design. It has stood the test of time and is still just as viable as 50 years ago! It's hard to believe it has been around that long, but that alone says something about the design.

It features good flex and exceptional holding power due to the amount of rake. The narrow base allows it to turn on a dime, making it very fast due to reduced drag. Because of the rake, the fin can be ridden much further forward on the board, which also helps it turn well.

It has a smooth, almost "no fin" feel in the water until it is pushed. It then responds with an incredible pop-out of turns. In the smaller sizes, it works well in a 2PLUS1 setup but excels as a single fin!

SIZE: ranges from 6.00" to 9.50" in half-inch increments.

TX Series

The TX is the latest generation of our oldest TS, first made in the early 70s. This series has been through many refinements over the years, including the T2 and T3, finally culminating in the TX.

TX has a more upright body with an elongated upper blade. The body's design makes it very efficient and the narrowness allows it to be pivotal.

While the upper blade allows the fin to flex, giving it a lot of pop out of turns. Plus, due to the amount of rake, the fin can be surfed much further forward on the board without impacting the holding power.

Because it is so efficient, the fin does not need to be very big to be effective. While it looks very different from the original TS, it still has many of the same characteristics—speed, pivot, and drive!

It works well as a single fin but is also great in a 2PLUS1 setup paired with one of our smaller side fins, like the A4C-425, or, for a more radical approach, one of the Hammer series (H8).

SIZE: ranges from 5.00" to 9.00" in one-inch increments.

GFX Series

Another one of the newer single-fin designs. It is a derivative of our GS design but with a much narrower and more flexible blade.

Color Choices

We have several different standard color panels for custom fins.

The color panel images below are taken from fiberglass panels, so they are as close as possible to represent the colors. Sometimes, we might be out of a specific color, so be prepared to have an alternate choice. The ordering system will show the in-stock colors.
